Windows Seven: a new roadmap for leave at the end of 2009?


Indeed, key partners of Microsoft have already received a preliminary version, a version Milestone 1, and the roadmap indicates that the industry should receive the finalized version during the second half of 2009, the general public a few months later, is probably early 2010.

This version Milestone 1 is available for Microsoft partners, in English only, x86 and x64 versions. An interesting feature was put forward by Microsoft, the ability of the operating system to manage a heterogeneous graphics system composed of several graphics cards from different vendors, and a new version of Media center are already integrated.

The alpha version Milestone 2 is scheduled for April / May 2008, and Milestone 3 will follow in the third quarter. The dates of the first beta and release candidate are still “determined”, but it remains likely that they are available in the year.

We will have more information on dates, specifications and features on Windows 7 when Microsoft announced the Windows logo program for this operating system, in July 2008 according to company policy which must provide 18 months before the scheduled date of a RTM version.
