The Eee PC saves Windows XP until 2010
The success of the Eee PC has succeeded where consumer demand has failed: Microsoft has decided to grant a reprieve to Windows XP, which should have disappeared rays on June 30, 2008 (1).
The Redmond company has officially announced that Windows XP Home would be available until at least June 30, 2010, one year after the release of the next OS (Windows 7), but only for Ultra Low Cost PC (ULCPC).
The Eee PC Asus, ClassMate Intel Cloudbook of Everex and other ultraportables can therefore be sold to XP version until two years after the PC classic.

Small, easy to use, economical (about 300 euros), ULCPC have many strengths, but an inconvenience size from the viewpoint of Microsoft: they are designed to accommodate Linux standard.
They were not the caliber necessary to support the weight of Vista … or its price.
The Redmond company could not ignore this promising market, where the sentence given to Windows XP.
A version of XP Eee PC 700 Asus has already been concocted and will be marketed (in the version equipped with a screen of 7 inches) in the USA from April 9.
In France, Windows will be reserved for the Eee PC 900 (screen 8.9 inches).
This model, due in June, will be marketed 399 euros. Asus will also propose to a Linux version, at a price which could be lower.
